The collection and processing plant in Amsterdam is centrally located close to the docks. Here, MAIN has reception and storage tanks for oil-water mixtures and fuel residues, with a total capacity of 30,000 m3.

In Amsterdam, MAIN also has its own processing plant for separating out and processing oil-water mixtures. Oil and water are separated out. The contaminated water is then treated in a so-called DAF (dissolved air flotation) system. The oil fraction undergoes further treatment to attain the best possible environmental return. The sludge fraction is incinerated.
