MAIN is specialised in the collection of ship-generated waste, such as:

  • Bilge water
  • Waste oil
  • Washing water
  • Sanitary waste water
  • Engine-room sludge
  • Household chemical waste such as coolants, oil filters, rags, grease, paints, batteries, etc. 

MAIN works for seagoing and inland shipping, the fishing industry and filling stations. MAIN operates independently in the following (sea) ports: Delfzijl, Eemshaven, Harlingen, Den Helder, Amsterdam, IJmond and on the Amsterdam-Rijn Canal. If required, MAIN can also arrange for the collection of ship-generated waste in other ports. In Urk, Stavoren, Wartena, Harderwijk, Kampen, Lelystad, Lauwersoog, Den Oever, Stellendam, Rotterdam, Moerdijk, Dordrecht and Scheveningen, the collection of ship-generated waste is carried out in collaboration with contractors. MAIN has long-term contracts for the collection of waste in inland shipping – with Stichting Afvalstoffen & Vaardocumenten Binnenvaart (SAB) – and in the fishing industry – with Stichting 
Financiering Afvalstoffen Visserij (SFAV).

MAIN has its own vacuum tankers for the cleaning of oil-water separators, car washes and settling tanks at filling stations, etc.
